Dedicated team mate

I first met KATE through North Durban Victim Support in 2024 when she was introduced to me as a member offering counselling and debriefing to victims at my station. I have been fortunate to work with such a woman of her calibre. Together, we have conducted awareness programmes and worked to empower the North Durban community, including children, through school safety initiatives. Her dedication comes from both her heart and experience. Working with KATE has been a rewarding journey so far, and I look forward to continuing our efforts to empower young women and children in my area.

KATE helped our boys with coping skills

We are incredibly grateful to have met KATE CROSSON, a highly skilled educational professional with many years of experience and a passion for teaching. Currently working as a specialist wellness counsellor and life coach in Durban North, KATE has had a profound impact on our family during a particularly challenging time.

With four boys ranging from 12 to 18 years old, we sought Kate’s counselling and coaching services. In just a few sessions, she built a strong professional relationship with them, instilling confidence and equipping them with essential coping skills. She encouraged them to apply these skills when facing everyday challenges, and as a result, they are now better prepared to overcome obstacles and grow into the best versions of themselves—whether in their schoolwork, sports, social interactions, or personal lives.

We are extremely grateful for KATE’s support and have no doubt that our boys will continue to benefit from this experience for the rest of their lives.

Kate gave me coping tools to deal with my life

Kate gave me coping tools to deal with my life

My name is Mandisa, and KATE has been my counsellor. She saved my life in so many ways. After giving birth to my stillborn baby, I was overwhelmed with suicidal thoughts. I couldn’t stop questioning God—why me? But KATE encouraged me to focus on what I can control. She reminded me that Isipho lives within me now and encouraged me to find ways to celebrate his life, even though it was short. She told me that I must live for him just as much as I would have died for him.
She reassured me that he is in the safest place he could ever be—a place with no pain or suffering. ❤ Isipho gave me an angel on earth in KATE. It was as if he sent her as part of my healing, to look after me, to love and care for me.
Everything in this world is a calling, and I truly believe KATE was called for this. She has given me the tools to cope with my loss, and now it feels manageable. You were the angel of light and healing on my journey—thank you. Please continue helping others on their healing journeys.
I LOVE YOU!! ❤

Helped me gain perspective

KATE helped me gain perspective
Through some life-changing events and personal challenges in 2023 and 2024, I felt my daily life was affected. I felt overwhelmed and constantly battled with focus, making personal and professional decisions difficult. I became an overthinker, unable to be the person I once was, and I needed help to get back there.
I decided to look into life coaching after a friend, who had benefited from it, shared how much it had helped him through his own challenges. I thought about booking a first session and told myself, “Let’s see if this is for me—I need to be convinced.”
However, that first session soon turned into fortnightly sessions, and before long, I started to see my life returning to the perspective I truly needed.
Over four months with KATE, her support and coaching skills gave me the guidance to re-evaluate my abilities in all areas of my life and make choices that improved my mind, body, and soul. She has been deeply connected with me on this journey—even in moments when I felt like giving up—and now, I am a better version of myself because of her efforts, which extend far beyond just the sessions.
Her encouragement, guidance, and support have helped me step into my full potential. Her passion for what she does is something I deeply value, as I now see my future with optimism and confidence, knowing that I can still achieve everything I once believed in.
Thank you, KATE—I truly appreciate your passion for helping me believe again!

Easy to speak with

KATE is an amazing person who’s easy to speak to and knows how to ask the right questions. She also makes it easy to be vulnerable and to freely speak from your heart. I’ve never felt awkward or judged around her and I feel like that’s what you need in a therapist.

I had the pleasure of mentoring KATE CROSSON during her time in the GoH Psychology Graduate Mentorship Programme. KATE demonstrated exceptional dedication, compassion, and expertise in her pursuit of becoming a Specialist Wellness Counsellor.
KATE’s passion for providing a safe, non-judgemental space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions is truly inspiring. Her natural ability to connect with others, coupled with her strong work ethic, makes her an outstanding professional in the field of counselling.

Kate Develops coping strategies

KATE develops coping strategies customized for every situation.

KATE was an absolute game-changer when she was appointed as a teacher at our international school in Kenya. She has a unique gift for connecting with children and staff members, helping them navigate life’s challenges.
KATE was always there to support students who were struggling. Through her patience, empathy, attentive listening, and creative approach, she helped them develop coping strategies and build confidence.
What impressed me most was KATE’s ability to communicate complex concepts in a way that was both relatable and engaging for the students. She is fun and interactive, which helped them feel comfortable and motivated.
As part of the management team, it was incredible to witness the positive impact she had on both students and staff members. I noticed a significant improvement in her students’ grades, as well as an increased sense of self-awareness and self-esteem, thanks to her approach, guidance, support, and empowerment.
I highly recommend her to anyone—individuals, families, or children—seeking a compassionate and effective counsellor and life coach. KATE is truly a gem.

Brilliant with teenagers

KATE embodies so many of the qualities of a great counsellor: warm, kind, caring, intelligent, and experienced. She is brilliant with teenagers and has a rapport with them, as well as an understanding of their needs, that is seldom seen. I refer all my teenage patients to her for counselling.
